What a Fiska-Fun Sping Hop We Had! We Have Winners!

First, my apologies for not getting this post up sooner, I know it is fun to go back right away after a blog hop and see if you are a winner.

Thank you to all of the Fiskateers who stopped by my blog during the Spring Fiskateer Blog Hop.  I am not a blogger who posts very often, but I do love playing along in a good blog hop and this one was a lot of fun!  I really had a great time hopping to all of the Fiskateer blogs over the weekend! So much inspiration.  If you think about it, we have a lot of this inspiration available to us each and every day right in the gallery as a Fiskateer.  So, if you are reading this and are not a Fiskateer, I hope you will go to www.fiskateer.com/join so you can be a part of this positive, upbeat crafting community full of some very talented crafters of all kinds.  If your favorite craft is sewing, knitting, gardening, scrapbooking, cross stitching, card making - you name it - we have Fiskateers who share your interests.

Now for the winner of the Fiskars #5 Non-Stick Scissors...from my 49 comments Random.org chose comment #14

I love the bags. I am glad you are recovering well and that you found some time to share these great bags. And I was lucky enough to attend a US of F party.

Teresa, I will be sending your scissors as soon as I get your address.

Since Teresa did mention in her comments that she attended a United States of Fiskateers event I also decided to pick a second winner from those who said they didn't attend a US of F crop or win a prize from one of the challenges on the on-line US of F party and mail that winner the Fiskars #8 Scissors.  Of the seven people who left comments saying they fit in that group, Random.org picked the comment #1

Fiskateer Spring Blog Hop

A Spring Gift Bag
Welcome to the Fiskateers Spring Blog Hop. You should have come from the blog of the super talented Lizzie, Fiskateer #5926.  If you happen to have just found the hop from my blog  and you are a Fiskateer, official starting point is at  www.fiskateers.com.

If you are one of my followers who is thinking a “Fiskawhat?”, you should know that Fiskateers (www.fiskateers.com) is an online community of craftiness (paper crafts, sewing, gardening, etc.) all based around our love and appreciation of Fiskars (think orange-handled scissors to start). There is a blog, gallery, and message board led by four lovely Lead Fiskateers who along with the other Fiskateers are fabulous at getting creativity flowing via chats, challenges, on-line crops, and interviews with other crafty celebrities. If you would like to join in the inspiration of Fiskateers, go to www.Fiskateers.com/join. Then, join in the fun at the beginning, www.kellystarsallthingscrafty.blogspot.com for a complete list of blog hop stops.
Now with all of the house keeping out of the way, we will move on to my project.  I have to admit this project is a "leftover".  When Kelly asked if I wanted to be a part of the hop I absolutely did, but knew I would be recovering from neck surgery and would not be able to have a project that was blog-hop-worthy ready in time ( I am doing better than expected at this point, by the way). I was going to just offer some fun Fiskars blog candy, but I was looking through some pictures and realized I had not shared this particular gift bag project on-line, and it seemed so appropriate since it is a spring project and I used so many of Fiskars great tools!   Some fellow Fiskateers will remember it from the party we had at the end of Tami's Whirlwind Tour of Arizona.

Supplies

Fiskars tools used in this project:
Spring Flower Border Punch (LE 2011)
Butterfly Border Punch (LE 2011)
The consumables used were a very coveted, and no longer available, Fiskars tape runner, brown paper lunch bag, piece of scrap plastic leftover from lamenating, tissue paper, orange and green cardstock, ribbon, and stickles.

Creating Your Gift Bag

Before you start, cut 3" off of the top of your bag and save for later.

Insert the bottom half of your Everywhere Punch inside of the paper bag and the top half on the side of the side of the bag without a seam and punch you hole in the middle of your bag.

Center your bag on the border punch of your choice, some patterns will look fine if they are not centered, but some will not look so nice.  A regular weight brown paper lunch bag should be light enough you can punch through all of the layers at once.

Finish Up With Punches or Other Embellishments

Now you can punch out shapes, stamp a design  or use other embellishments of your choice to decorate the bag.  For the window, I put a small amount of adhesive on each side of the piece of plastic and carefully inserted in the bag to stick behind the opening.
That small piece of paper you saved from the top of your bag can be cut, used as a gift card and tied to the bag.  I punched a hole in an upper corner (since the picture, I now have a Fiskars punch to do this with!) used a sentiment from one of my Simple Stick Stamp sets, and a small piece of coordinating ribbon.

Two Different Looks

For My Giveaway

Simply leave a comment and I will share with a random winner, a pair of Fiskars Non-Stick #5 Detail Scissors  and, only if you are a Fiskateer, were not able to attend a US of F gathering or were not an on-line US of F winner, I will also add in a pair of #8 Designer Scissors with the Floral pattern.  I am sure there will be a few other goodies in the bag as well!
